- Hoedown -Rileys Mountaineers have been playing old-timey, western, classic country and bluegrass music throughout the West for 20 years. The Mountaineers have entertained thousands at home and abroad with their special variety of homespun traditional American music and song.

The Riley family forms the nucleus of the Mountaineers. Veteran banjo/guitar player and traditional dance caller, Dennis Riley, inspires the group’s old timely music and audience involvement in their shows. Son Devon Riley anchors the band on guitar and mandolin. Devon’s wife, lead singer/spoon player Shelli Riley, fills in the mix with traditional country favorites. The three combine to provide the bulk of the band’s rich and varied vocal harmonies. Devon’s brother, Tim Riley, joins the group regularly on guitar and other historic instruments to provide a depth of musicality that crosses genres.
Change Required is a high energy band that plays everything from Motown, Disco, and Rock Classics to Jazz, Blues, and Country. With a repertoire of over 500 songs, this band knows plenty of danceable tunes and puts on one heck of a show. CHANGE REQUIRED has 2 lead singers and sweet sounding harmonies. Working on CD #3,
CHANGE REQUIRED can also add great originals to their playlist. Stars played with include Jerry Lee Lewis, Asleep at the Wheel, Freddie Fender, Doug Kershaw, Emmylou Harris, and Bruce Hornsby. Come see us at the Lemon Lily festival on Saturday, July 17th and do some dancin’. John King – Vocals, Guitar, Violin.
Elaine Latimer – Vocals, Keyboard.
Nathaniel Woods – Bass, Guitar.
Steve Zaccardi – Drums. www.myspace.com/changerequired

- Hike to Saddle Junction
with Botanist/Teacher Michael Wangler & Dave Stith. The hike begins below the majestic Idyllwild icon Lily Rock. We will be hiking at a leisurely pace 2.5 miles on the Devils Slide Trail to Saddle Junction and 1/2 mile beyond to an area where among the fields of ferns dozens of lemon lilies were spotted last year. On the way we will see how many of the over 100 plants species that exist along the trail we can identify. Bring a lunch or snacks and plenty to drink as we will stop briefly at the junction before continuing on to see the lilies. Elevation gain is 1600. RSVP required. RSVP to hikes@lemonlilyfestival.com.
